EMS Tracking [opens in new window]

EMS is an express mail service set up in 1980 by the China Courier Service Corporation (CCSC). It's a state owned enterprise and is something halfway between a courier and normal air mail.

Advantages

As a result of the unique circumstances that EMS operates in (half fastpost service, half courier service) it tends to be a little faster than airmail and in certain destinations is cheaper than couriers like UPS.

It is also more likely to enjoy the light treatment customs systems often show to airmail packages, i.e. not holding it up for endless inspections, which can be more likely for courier parcels in some countries. This can make EMS a good shipping choice for dropshipping or importing smaller quantities into restrictive countries.

It also has a higher level of trackability than airmail.

Prices

Yes EMS is sometimes more expensive than couriers when considering that it is a little slower but what you lose in one area you get back in another and you are more likely to get your package to your customer unscathed without a lot of red tape to weigh it down.

To see shipping prices for EMS, as for all other chinavasion shipping methods, you need to sign in to your Chinavasion.com customer account, then go to the checkout with at least 1 product in your basket, and choose different shipping methods / countries / quantities to see various shipping fees.

Service

In most cases EMS is treated as airmail except the biggest package is 30kg instead of 2kg for Air Mail.

If you see the EMS option in your chinavasion checkout, it means it is available for your selected destination and product quantity. If you do not see the EMS logo available to select in the "change courier" popup, it means we do not offer EMS for that location and/or quantity of product.

The average package shipped by EMS:

• Arrives in major destinations within about 7 days
• Can be tracked from the EMS website and in certain destination post office sites.
• Is covered by the Chinavasion Delivery Guarantee
• Is very often the smoothest way for Customs clearance, especially for super-overly-restrictive destinations like Brazil, Greece, Russia, Turkey, etc

Choosing EMS is no guarantee of avoiding any import duty/tax and you are, as usual, advised to do your homework and the consignee accepts any charges on any orders to any destinations via any shipping method.
